Welcome to my re-launch, my name is Lekeshia Angelique
If you've been in my space, you might know three things about me. One, that I have two sets of twins, all girls 10 years apart. You heard that right! Two sets of twins all girls 10 years apart. Two, that I have a 24 year old son who interned in my business. And three, that I married the love of my life in June, Cassandra. But being that you probably already know those things. I'm pretty sure something that you probably don't know. And that's going to be my name origin. I promise. It has an importance to the story in relation to diversity, equity inclusion, you see so much of who we are and what we do can be tied to our names. And I really never thought about how I got my name until I was entering the workforce and starting my business. You see, name discrimination is real. And Lekeshia is at the top of the list of names that received high rejection- no matter the qualifications.
Tune in to learn more about my name or business name origin and make sure you send me a DM to let me know your name origin as well!

“Name discrimination is real. And Lekeshia is at the top of the list of names that received high rejection, no matter the qualifications, in a recent study. So I started going by Angelique.”
“My mom did not know that name bias and discriminating against people, against the name Lekeshia, was going to be a thing by the time I entered the workforce. She had no foresight on that, of course, we never do.”
